Technical Data Sheet

Rock Drill Oil

General Industrial Oil
Rockdrill Oil is developed to meet the special lubrication requirements of all percussion type pneumatic tools, down-the-hole and surface drilling equipment. It is based on a blend of highly refined mineral oils and selected additives chosen for their ability to maintain high oil film strength and effectively lubricate the demanding requirements of pneumatic drill impact mechanisms.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

Spectra Rockdrill is suitable for use in the following applications:

  • Percussion type pneumatic tools, including those used in rock drilling
  • Pneumatic tools working in very low temperatures
  • Others like Screamer Pumps and Water Injection Plunger Pumps

PRODUCT FEATURES

Spectra Rock Drill Oil is a high performance lubricant for percussion-type air tools, which is formulated from highly refined mineral oils, extreme pressure, oiliness and tackiness additives, emulsifiers, rust and corrosion inhibitors, and anti-foam agents.

PRODUCT BENEFITS

  • Superior lubrication performance and Vigorous EP/anti-wear properties – The product is possesses excellent lubricity and anti-wear properties in order to provide the high film strength and load carrying capacity necessary to provide wear, excessive heat and burning of drill components. These essential extreme pressure (EP) properties prevent the rapture of the lubricating oil film within the impact mechanism, where both reciprocating and rotating motions are employed.
  • Good thermal and oxidation stability – Resists the formation of sludge and other harmful products of oxidation
  • Excellent corrosion protection – Anti-rust and tackiness additives provide effective corrosion protection of all internal working surfaces. Combats the water washing effect of water condensate formed on critical surfaces during the air expansion process.

HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT
