Spectra low Aromatic White Spirit is a high boiling range hydrocarbon solvent which has a minimum aromatic content of 15%. It is also known as turpentine substitute, mineral tumpentine, mineral spirit, or LAWS.

APPLICATIONS

  • One of the main uses of Spectra Low Aromatic White Spirit is in paints, varnishes and other surface coatings where solvents with slow evaporation rates are required.
  • Another important application is the dry-cleaning industry, where solvents of this type are used because of their ability to dissolve grease and other oil-soluble slains without affecting fabrics or dyes.
  • Owing to its relatively low evaporation rate, Spectra low Aromatic White Spirit is often used in industrial degreasing equipment and can be used in both liquid and vapour-phase systems.
  • Spectra Low Aromatic White Spirit is also used as a solvent in the manufacture of wood preservatives and polishes for furniture, floors snd shoes.
